
Executive Leadership Program
Reiswerk offers knowledge and inspiration for high performers in a unique Executive Leadership Program. In cooperation with NHTV university of Applied Sciences Breda and Penn State University we present in spring 2012 an in total eight day master program in both the Netherlands and the United States of America to develop your talent.
Candidates
This is a program on master level and the candidates will be selected according to these criteria:
• Experience in travel industry for at least three years,
• You are at least a bachelor graduate and for example a
o Product Manager,
o Yield Manager
o Sales Manager,
o Marketing Manager,
o IT manager,
o HR Manager,
o Procurement Manager,
o Participant in company MD program,
There is a maximum of 15 candidates for this program. You must be prepared to present yourself in an admission interview. This will take place in November and December 2011.
Qualifications
When you complete the program you get a certificate. This certificate alone is a great way to show you are ready for the next step in your career in travel, but the program is also worth eight ECTS when you participate in a master program.

Dates
The program consists of two modules of two consecutive days in the Netherlands and one module of four consecutive days at Penn State University in the United States of America. It takes place on the following dates:
- 19 and 20 April 2012 in the Netherlands, kasteel Groenendael
- 10 and 11 May 2012 in the Netherlands, kasteel Groenendael
- 4 - 7 June 2012 in Pennsylvania, PSU State College
Costs
The costs of the program are 4,999 euro. Reiswerk contributes a 1,000 euro per person, so total costs are 3,999 euro. This excludes expenses for travel, lodging etc. the estimated expenses are approximatly 1,800 euro.

Lecturers Dr. Joseph Roevens is a tenured professor at NHTV Breda University in the Netherlands and a research associate of its Center for Cross-cultural Understanding. Joseph holds a B.A. from Cornell University, advanced degrees from IEP, Ecole Centrale, HEC, the School of Advanced International Relations (SAIS) of Johns Hopkins University, and a Ph.D from Tilburg University. He researches and lectures about participative forms of management and Change applying Chaos/ Complexity theory and Systemic thinking. His expertise covers all areas of management and sustainable Change, with a focus on entrepreneurial participation, corporate democracy, open book management and Chaos theory. |  |
| Dr. Vincent Platenkamp is an associate professor in Cross-Cultural Understanding at NHTV, Breda. He finished his masters in sociology and philosophy (both Cum Laude) at the University of Amsterdam and recently - in January 2007 - his PhD in Wageningen. From 1977-1980 he was a student assistant in the Philosophy of Science and in Methodology at the University of Amsterdam. From 1981-1989 he worked as a member of staff in part-time education on Human Resource Management and labour relations in The Hague (Stichting SOSA).
Since 1988 he works at NHTV, Breda. He took part in various international projects in the field of HRM, TQM and Cross-cultural studies in the Netherlands, Portugal, Indonesia, Thailand, Hungary, Poland, Cuba, Curacao and Bulgaria. From 1989-1992 he joint the Leisure Management department and from 1992 - now the International Tourism Management and Consultancy. Since January 2007 he became an associate professor in Cross-Cultural Understanding. |  |
| Drs. Diane Nijs is Lector Imagineering at NHTV University of Applied Sciences in Breda/The Netherlands. She holds a MA in Human Kinesiology from the KU Louvain and a MA in Leisure Agogics from the Free University of Brussels. Her research interests are aligned with her practical involvement in the creative industries, focussing on the triptych of Design, Complexity and Management in organizational environments with an emphasis on the strategic and organizational implications of complexity. She designed and leads the teaching of complexity theory, design and management to MBI students at NHTV for several years now and regularly teaches and writes on design thinking in management from a complexity perspective. Nijs will teach about a complexity perspective on organizations and organizing, about strategic change and innovation and about the narrative mode of thinking and acting/designing. |  |

| Paul Howard MBA is instructor in restaurant and club management at Penn State University. He has a B.S. degree in hotel, restaurant and institutional management and holds a MBA in strategic management and consulting, both from PSU. During his career he managed several restaurants and clubs and he is the former director of the hospitality industry relations at PSU. He specializes in hospitality strategy, restaurant management and club management. He lectures about organizational culture; how to understand and influence the culture of your organization, and the effects of culture on strategy. In the third module he will also lecture about leadership development and strategies. |  |
| Daniel Mount MBA is associate professor of hospitality management at PSU. He has a B.S. degree in Finance of Mankato State University, holds a MBA in Hotel Restaurant and Institutional Management from Michigan State University and a DBA of United State International University in International business. His research interests are customer call centers, non- response bias in internet guest surveys and derivations of traditional importance- performance analysis. He specializes in service management and hotel operations. He lectures about different aspects of strategic service quality development. |  |
| Roger L. Williams MBA became the tenth executive director of the Penn State Alumni Association in June 2003. He holds three degrees from Penn State: a bachelor's in history, master's in journalism, and doctorate in higher education. He came to the Penn State Alumni Association with more than 25 years of higher education experience in communications, public relations, and marketing, having served as the chief public relations officer at three major universities. He started as a writer–editor in Penn State’s Department of Public Information in 1978 and rose through the ranks of manager of special projects, assistant director and director of Public Information, then served as the assistant vice president and executive director of University Relations (1986–1995). From 1995–2003, He was associate vice president for communications at Georgetown University and associate vice chancellor for university relations at the University of Arkansas.He is also an affiliate associate professor in the Penn State College of Education and serves on the editorial board of the scholarly journal Perspectives on the History of Higher Education |  |
